These terms govern your use of CBAM Import Cost Estimator (https://cbam.shipcostlab.com), a free informational calculator operated by José Manuel Volante González (see the legal notice for full service-provider identification).

The service

The site is provided free of charge, as-is, for informational use. There are no user accounts, no registration, no subscriptions and no paid features. You can use the calculator without providing any personal data.

What the results are — and are not

The calculator produces indicative estimates of EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) certificate costs based on Regulation (EU) 2023/956, its implementing acts, and a versioned reference dataset whose version and verification date are displayed next to every result.

The results are not:

• a CBAM declaration or any other customs or tax filing;
• tax, legal or customs advice;
• a guarantee of the liability an importer will actually incur.

Actual CBAM liability depends on verified embedded emissions, the evolution of EU ETS certificate prices, free-allowance rules in force at the time of import, and the specifics of each consignment. For decisions with significant legal or financial consequences, consult a qualified customs broker or tax advisor.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the site to violate any law or third-party rights;
• attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or circumvent security controls of the site;
• scrape or republish the dataset or content in a way that misrepresents its source or verification status.

Our content

Site content (copy, calculation methodology presentation, design) is owned by the operator unless otherwise attributed. Regulatory data referenced (regulation texts, default emission values, ETS price methodology) belongs to its respective public sources, which are cited inline. You may quote short excerpts with attribution.

Third-party links

We link to third-party resources (for example, EUR-Lex and European Commission pages) for reference. We are not responsible for their availability or accuracy.

Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the operator accepts no liability for decisions taken on the basis of the estimates shown. The service is provided without warranty of uninterrupted availability.

We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance.
